In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, hotels and convention centers are developing new toolkits and guidelines for how their properties will run moving forward. These guidelines are put in place to ensure health of both guests and staff, and to reassure travelers that it is safe to visit again.
Several event facilities and hotels brands have also achieved or committed to achieving GBAC STAR™ accreditation.
GBAC STAR™ is a new accreditation program started in response to COVID and is the cleaning industry’s only outbreak prevention, response and recovery accreditation for facilities. It is performance-based and designed to help facilities establish a comprehensive system of cleaning, disinfection and infectious disease prevention for their staff and their building. You can find more information on this accreditation here.
As part of our commitment to our clients and our industry partners, we are compiling and updating a list of actions taken by hotels and their brands as well as CVBs and convention centers. Below you can find information from our partners in their own words (where applicable) and/or links to more information.
“We are very excited to share our Omni Safe and Clean standards for all of our hotels and resorts as they begin to reopen this month. Our team paid special attention to each touch point from arrival to departure to ensure that our guests and associates remain healthy and safe from the moment they walk through our doors. In addition, we have a new group meeting offer for programs and conferences arriving through March 31, 2021.
You can find the most up to date list of what hotels are open and when additional hotels will open on our website at Hotel Openings and as we continue to update our safe and clean standards, they can be found at the following Omni Safe and Clean.”
Here you will find the additional steps they are taking detailed for each area of the hotel.

We anticipate that these guidelines and protocols will evolve with public health and governmental recommendations.
